History
After working 25 years in the communications industry, Chris Pickett decided to launch a small business in the voice, data, fiber, video, and OSP construction cabling industry in 2011.
Since then, CNC Communications has built an impressive list of clients and delivered a diverse range of technical communication projects. In 2011, CNC Communications was certified by the state of Florida as an electrical contractor. CNC Communications continues to provide innovative quality content solutions for all forms of technical communication.
Chris Pickett, RCDD, serves as the president of CNC Communications, INC. He is one of the company’s founders and is on the board of directors.
Chris has over 35 years of experience in the voice, data, and fiber optic cabling industry. He started his career as a fiber optic technician at a major university in North Carolina in 1985. He then furthered his career as a technician for companies such as MCI, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Sprint. In 1997, he was promoted to contract administrator for a large technologies company overseeing major rollout projects at over 2,200 sites. In 1999, as a division operation manager, Chris oversaw the development of a local structured cabling company. Most recently, he spent 7 years as the structured services manager for a national cabling organization.
Chris has completed many training courses and manufacturer certifications with some of the largest manufacturers in the cabling industry such as Corning, Panduit, Ortronincs, Systimax, Mohawk, Hubbell, Sumitomo, and OCC. He is currently a member of BICSI and has the Technician and Registered Communications Distribution Designer recognition for his many years of service. He specializes in structured cabling design, open architecture for data center infrastructure, fiber optic design, paging and intercom systems, outside plant conduit and cabling construction, and fire - stopping.
